Meharry ASDA is arguably the premier student organization both locally and nationally. The Meharry ASDA Chapter comprises nearly thirty exceptional leaders dedicated to executing the ASDA mission; protecting and advancing the rights, interests, and welfare of dental students through organized dentistry, services, information, education, representation, and advocacy.

​

Through Meharry Medical College’s Mission:
"Worship of God, Through Service to Mankind" and the ASDA Mission, we can organize local and nationally recognized programs providing service opportunities for students and services to the community. Events such as Oral Health Day (Free Oral Healthcare), Beyond the Clinics Business Symposium (Free Continuing Education) and "REACH" Oral Health Outreach Program (Free Products).

As we attempt to return to normalcy in the age of pandemics, we are proud to have executed these local and nationally recognized events in person. Meharry ASDA succeeded in hosting the 4th Annual Beyond the Clinics Business Symposium, teaching dental students critical business topics not taught in dental school. The very successful 2022 Vendor Fair held in The Cal Turner Family Center for Student Education comprised 20 Vendors bringing post-graduate career opportunities and services to the Meharry student body. We are excited to provide over one hundred thousand dollars in free services (i.e., restorations, cleanings, extractions) to the Nashville community on the Meharry ASDA Oral Health Day on March 4, 2023. Meharry ASDA is proud to provide the aforementioned events in person for the first time since 2019.  

 

Meharry ASDA will continue to engage students, faculty, and the community. We welcome networking and partnership opportunities with dental students, professionals, and leaders. The American Dental Association (ADA) and Tennessee Dental Association (TDA) have provided a platform for dental students to develop as leaders, advocate for their peers and communities, and successfully navigate organized dentistry. The Meharry Chapter will foster these principles, which are dedicated to advancing your education as a future practitioner who will impact the community you serve.
